Welcome! I’m Looking Forward To Helping You!

I have over 20 years’ experience teaching English Language Arts. I have a Master’s Degree from Brooklyn College, City University of New York. I’m a published author, educational consultant in English Language Arts for several school districts in Florida, California, and New Mexico, and I’ve trained teachers throughout the state of Florida for the Florida Department of Education.

My non-profit organization, Transformational Learning & Coaching, Inc. (http://storytellersandwriters.org/), has helped thousands of struggling students, mostly English Language Learners, score higher on their academic standardized Writing and Language Arts tests, using the Incite to Write program. But most importantly, I have worked in hundreds of classrooms hands-on, helping teachers and kids find better, more efficient, and more fun ways to learn essential writing, reading and English speaking skills. As a Level 5 certified TEFL instructor, I have many tools to use to make your lessons relevant and interesting. You will find the activities are very engaging, and you will be able to note your progress at the end of each lesson as  you move steadily toward your goals in English communication.

Tutoring for Pre-Intermediate/Intermediate to Advanced Learners

Prior to becoming an educator, I was a professional actor. Why does that matter? Speaking Shakespeare  does not come easily! Actors spend years training in speech. This background has given me a keen understanding of the English language, pronunciation, how to enunciate properly, and how to use phrasing to communicate effectively. 

Communication is important to everyone. The ability to express yourself well in English can open doors to further education and job opportunities. It can be a very rewarding experience to watch as your skill level in English progresses. 

 

I am a Level 5 TEFL certified Instructor, so you can be sure I understand how difficult it is  to communicate in a new language, and what lessons are needed to help you succeed. I will work with you at the point you are at, and  we will move step by step toward your goals. We will be using a variety of activities and strategies to keep it interesting and relevant. After each lesson you will have accomplished a specific set of language rules, vocabulary words, or conversation topics that are tailored for YOU to bring you closer to your specific goals.
