Thank you for sharing these videos and downloads. I can’t wait to use some of the ideas when we start up home schooling again this year with my 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter.

  2. Girl says:

Loved these practical ideas shared in this video. I’m not sure I could get my 12 year old to do this nor my 16 year old. they will think it is too “babyish”. Is there a way to adapt these ideas for older kids or those who think they are?!

  3. Carol Aubrey says:

My son LOVES doing the sharing story with me. He will now write up to a paragraph before he gives me the paper.

Very informative with great ideas. Thanks for sharing it.

You and your child now have a new way of looking at writing, and a new focus on nurturing critical and creative thinking skills. Thinking skills can be nurtured anywhere and can focus on any subject. You will find there are many opportunities to open up dialogue and conversation on topics of interest or events that arise during the day.

Providing an environment where thinking skills can be nurtured will deepen and enrich your relationship with your child in many wonderful ways. Equally important, it will allow your child the space to find his or her own unique voice. This voice that your child is developing will transfer over to your child’s writing. Stay conscious, have patience, and you’ll be able to witness your child emerge as a unique and powerful communicator.

It has been a privilege for me to share with you these writing strategies. In the weeks ahead, I will be offering more writing/thinking/grammar tips. Look for my weekly, short and sweet

TUESDAY’S TIP

It will contain one writing tip each week. Look for it Tuesday mornings in the coming weeks, and be sure to add carol@incitetowrite.com to your address book so it won’t end up in your spam folder. You will also find a question and answer section, so feel free to email me your questions at carol@incitetowrite.com, and I will choose 1 or 2 questions each week to answer in Tuesday’s Tip.

Wishing you joy, ease, and fun as you continue the adventure of guiding and learning with your child!

Warmly,

Carol Aubrey
